This is a must for any Palm devotee, it has a very hairy trunk with huge fan shaped leaves. Trachycarpus can be slow to germinate, but the trick is that they need cooler temperatures than most palms - around 20°C to 23°C, and are best without bottom heat.

This is a must for any Palm devotee, it has a very hairy trunk with huge fan shaped leaves. Trachycarpus can be slow to germinate, but the trick is that they need cooler temperatures than most palms - around 20°C to 23°C, and are best without bottom heat.

Germination instructions

Soak for 24 hours and then sow on a loamy well drained sterile seed compost and cover with vermiculite. Keep moist but not wet at 20C to 22C. Germination in 1 to 3 months.
