One of the most stunning palms, found in parts of the Caribbean and Central Mexico. Forms a single silvery grey trunk with arching feathery pinnate leaves. Not hardy, so will require growing in a container other than in the very mildest of frost free microclimates. One of the easier palms to germinate and relatively quick growing for a palm.

Germination instructions

Soak the seeds in warm water for 2 days, changing the water daily. Sow in a well draining medium and lightly cover with vermiculite. Keep moist but not wet at around 30C to 35C. Germination can be erratic from around 4 weeks to a number of months.
