Pseudopanax ferox

From New Zealand, this Pseudopanax is similar in appearance to Pseudopanax crassifolious,  P. ferox however forms a smaller tree to around 7m tall.  The narrow toothed juvenile leaves which point downwards are almost a chocolate brown compared to the greener crassifolious leaves.  Again a bit of a marmite plant!  Needs some protection when smaller but should be hardy in the milder UK microclimates in a sheltered spot.
