From the Andes, a vigorous evergreen passion flower with pendulous pink flowers followed by sweet banana shaped yellow fruits. Fast growing, it can quickly clamber up structures. Needs a protected spot which is free from any significant frosts. Can also be grown in a conservatory.

(Passiflora mollissima is a cultivated form of P. tripartita which is used for commercial fruit production).

Germination instructions

Soak the seeds for 24hrs in orange juice. Then rinse and sow in a sterile seed compost lightly covering with vermiculite. Keep moist but not wet in bright light at around 20C. Germination is erratic from 3 weeks to 3+ months. Admit air after germination to lower risk of damping off.
