Unsurprisingly from the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. It has large dark green glossy and somewhat fleshy leaves and stunning blue flowers in spring. Prefers a damp spot in semi-shade. Does well by the coast and is hardy in milder microclimates in the UK, but will not take hard frosts.
