The Bottle Gourd has a large round bottom section connected by a narrow neck to a smaller round upper section. Best grown up a structure, harvest when the smooth, greenish rind turns white or starts to brown. Excellent dried as a decorative.

Germination instructions

Sow in a sterile seed compost covering with vermiculite/grit. Keep at 25C to 30C. Germination in 2 to 3 weeks. Seedlings grow rapidly and will need good light. Water well when large and established. Flowers need cross pollination to set fruit.
