Caesalpinia gilliesii is a superb hardy tropical tree, easy from seed that prefers dry conditions. Has to be one to try outside in a sheltered hot dry position and if the wood is ripened well enough in summer it should withstand up to -10°C.

Germination instructions

Sow in a well drained sterile seed compost and cover with vermiculite/grit. Keep at around 25C to 35C. Germination 3+ weeks - keep in bright light once germinated.
