From the eastern states of the US, the PawPaw is the hardiest member of the Annonaceae family which includes custard apples and is well suited to growing in the UK, taking temperatures to at least -10C when larger. It has large slightly drooping oval leaves which fit in well with a jungle style theme. Purple brown flowers are produced in May/June followed by edible egg shaped fruits with a sweet banana/mango like flavour.
